Alec Puskas

Founder - Principal Designer

My design philosophy centers around the idea that a space should reflect the individuals who inhabit it. My design process is driven by the desire to create spaces and displays that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also evoke emotions, communicate ideas, and stimulate thought.

I am known for my creative use of color, texture, and pattern. I am not afraid to experiment with bold, unexpected elements to create unique and memorable spaces. I believe that even the smallest details can have a big impact on the overall feel of a space.

I developed a passion for the arts at a young age, inspired by my mother who was an accomplished opera singer. After receiving my bachelor’s degree in dance at Oklahoma City University, I performed in regional theater, theme parks, USO tours, and cruise ships.

I then transitioned to a career in retail, working for Nordstrom as a Visual Merchandising Manager. I had the opportunity to open multiple stores across the country, specializing in high-fashion décor and display.

In the 1990s, I left Nordstrom and opened my own design firm, Visionart. I worked with residential and iconic clients such as the Seattle Space Needle, Tulalip Resort, Holland America, Port of Everett, and many shopping centers.

In 2020, my husband Jeff and I relocated to Rancho Mirage to start the next chapter in my career: a new design firm, Tony Alexander Designs.

“My approach to design is rooted in the belief that every home should be a sanctuary - a place of comfort, peace, and happiness.” Alec Puskas
